Pre-University Programs
Pre-University ProgramInternational students may apply to enroll in the following Pre-University programs on a fee-paying basis:
Pre-University General Program (1 year). This Program offered in two formats: on-campus and in distant format (Microsoft Teams / Zoom). Students may choose the format during application process. Within the program, you will receive an intensive Russian Language course that will help you to achieve the B1 level of Russian language necessary to attend any degree programs taught in the Russian Language.
You can choose one of the supplementary educational programs within the language course:
- Humanitarian oriented program. The curriculum comprises Russian Language, History and Social Studies (Russian-medium instruction);
- Technology oriented program. The curriculum comprises Russian language, Mathematics, Physics, IT (Russian-medium instruction);
- Economics oriented program. The curriculum comprises Russian Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, History of Russia (Russian-medium instruction).
Entry requirements: the course is designed for international students with Еlementary (A1-A2) level of Russian.
Deadline for application: August 15 (September 10 for distant format)
Duration: October – August (2 semesters).
Enrollment dates: September 21 – 30.
Final assessment: July.
Tuition fee: 250,000 rubles. The fees are payable at the time of enrolment in Russian rubles in full (100%). No installments or deferred payments.
Additional costs: visa costs, accommodation, medical insurance and training materials.
Curriculum:
1 semester: Russian as a Foreign Language (compulsory module) – 480 class hours
2 semester: Russian as a Foreign Language (compulsory module) – 312 class hours
3 subjects in a chosen academic track (compulsory module) - 216 class hours.
1008 class hours in total.
Schedule: 5 days a week, 6-8 hours a day.
All Pre-University General Program students are provided with the necessary study materials and accommodation. Upon completion of the program, students will receive the Russian language proficiency certificate and will be able to pass international exam TRKI (Level 1) (optional).
Fees:
Tuition Fee — 250 000 rub in total
Invitation Fee — 800 rub*
Visa extension — 1600 rub*
Accommodation Fee (twin room) — 13 000 rub/month*
Health Insurance — 10 000 rub/year*
Transfer (one way) - 2000 rub*
TRKI exam (optional) - 6500 rub
* only for on-campus Program. Online Pre-University Program does not require this payment.
Pre-University Intensive Program (1,5 years).This Program offered in two formats: on-campus and in distant format (Microsoft Teams / Zoom). Students may choose the format during application process. Within the program, you will receive an intensive Academic English course that will help you to achieve the level of English language necessary to attend any English-taught degree program at the RANEPA or other Russian university.
Entry requirements: no previous knowledge of Russian language
Deadline for application: January 15, 2021 (February 10 for distant format)
Duration: March 2021 - July 2022 (3 semesters).
Enrollment dates: February 21 – 30, 2021.
Final assessment: July.
Tuition fee: 320,000 rubles. The fees are payable at the time of enrolment in Russian rubles in full (100%) or in 2 parts (50% during enrolment and 50% before start of 3rd semester). No installments or deferred payments.
Additional costs: visa costs, accommodation, medical insurance and training materials.
Curriculum:
1 semester: Russian as a Foreign Language (beginner course) - 300 class hours (can be choosen separately from the Pre-University Programs)
2 semester: Russian as a Foreign Language (compulsory module) – 480 class hours
2 semester: Russian as a Foreign Language (compulsory module) – 312 class hours
3 subjects in a chosen academic track (compulsory module) - 216 class hours.
1308 class hours in total.

Pre-University English Program (6 months).This Program offered in two formats: on-campus and in distant format (Microsoft Teams / Zoom). Students may choose the format during application process.
This program offered for students without any previous knowledge of Russian Language and consists of Pre-Course of 300 hours of Beginner Russian Language from March to August 2021 and will be continued with the Pre-University General Program from October 2021 to July 2022.
Entry requirements: the course is designed for international students with Intermeduate (B1 / IELTS 5.0) level of English language.
Deadline for application: December 20, 2020 (February 10 for distant format)
Duration: March 2021 - August 2021 (1 semester).
Enrollment dates: March 1-5, 2021.
Final assessment: August.
Tuition fee: 130,000 rubles. The fees are payable at the time of enrolment in Russian rubles in full (100%). No installments or deferred payments.
Additional costs: visa costs, accommodation, medical insurance and training materials.
Curriculum:
1 semester: Academic English (compulsory module) – 256 class hours
Russian for survival - 72 class hours (online course)
Introducation to management - 72 class hours
Introducation to Political Sciences - 72 class hours
Theory and methods of data analisys - 32 class hours
504 class hours in total.

Invitation Fee — 800 rub*
Visa extension — 1600 rub*
Accommodation Fee (twin room) — 13 000 rub/month*
Health Insurance — 10 000 rub/year*
Transfer (one way) - 2000 rub*
* only for on-campus Program. Online Pre-University Program does not require this payment.
List of documents:
- Copy of passport with notarized translation into Russian language + original passport;
- Copies of documents on education with notarized translation into Russian language + original;
- 4 photos (Size: 3 cm x 4 cm, matte on a white background);
- Health certificate including fluorography certificate and certificate of absence of HIV infection with translation into Russian (or 085-u Form in Russia).
Please, bear in mind that the visa and invitation procedures usually take 35-45 days. You are therefore urged to apply for desirable programs well in advance. As soon as the invitation is ready you will be notified. For Pre-University Programs in distant format.
Please note that your application will be reviewed for eligibility and entry requirements within 2 weeks.
Provided your application is approved, visa invitations can be requested only 90 days prior to the beginning of the programme.
Successful graduates of the RANEPA Pre-University Programs are eligible to a 50% - scholarship on further tuition-paid full-degree programmes.
